Born and raised in Toronto, Brian Killin seeks inspiration from every day Canadian life style. Brian is able to encapsulate the Canadian identity through a myriad of visual forms. From skaters in a late night shinny hockey game to a recent snow fall in northern Ontario and the hustling urban landscape of downtown Toronto to the peaceful beaches of Prince Edward Island. Brian’s work within the Canadian Identity series varies in subject matter but has similar roots as he attempts to define what it means to be Canadian. Brian models his artwork after the great Canadian artists, Cornelius Krieghoff and Ken Danby. Brian has shown his artwork over the past thirty years throughout Toronto with more exhibits planned for later 2012.
In addition to painting, Brian is a graduate of McMaster University, holds a Masters in Environmental Studies from York University and is a Professor of Urban Planning and Environmental Studies at Seneca College, Toronto.
